William Thomas

William Ellis Thomas, age 79 of Greensboro, passed away at home on October 5, 2020. Services will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church at 11:00 am with Bro. Steve Vernon and Mr. James I. Davis officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. He is preceded in death by his parents; Robert Gaither Thomas and Laura Nichols Thomas, brothers; George Everett Thomas and Robert Douglas Thomas.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy Davis Thomas of Greensboro, daughter; Carol Barnes (David) of Moundville, sons; Bob Thomas (Julie) of Moundville, Bill Thomas (Katie) of Georgiana, AL., Allan Thomas (Robin) of Greensboro, sister; Alice Johnson of Greensboro, brother; Frederick Thomas of Greensboro, grandchildren; Katy Davis (Zach), Erin Schlifer (Ryane), Sam Thomas, Evan Thomas, Anna Claire Thomas, Jacob Barnes, Thomas Barnes, John Caleb Barnes, Austin Thomas, Alexis Thomas, Cole Allen, and Katie Allen, great granddaughter; Rylee Kate Schlifer.

Mr. Thomas was a faithful servant to all in the community, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His presence will be deeply missed.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Barnes, John Caleb Barnes, Evan Thomas, Sam Thomas, Austin Thomas, Zach Davis and Ryane Schlifer. Honorary pallbearers are caregivers, former co workers and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church.
