Rufus Morrison

Rufus N. Morrison (Tee), age 83 of Moundville passed away peacefully on February 12, 2022, at his home surrounded by family. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Wyatt and Rev. Patsy Tant officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonzo and Cornelia Morrison; his brother, Jack Morrison; sister Shelby Shaw and brother-in-law Joe Shaw.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary Morrison (Molly); daughter, Angie Gann (Danny); son, Patrick Morrison (Deanne); granddaughters, Elizabeth Danielle Gann, Audrey Morrison, and Sadie Morrison; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rufus had a full life. He served his country for 23 years in the United States Army where he spent 8 tours overseas. After retirement he served the Town of Moundville as Chief of Police for 13 years. He then provided security for Westervelt for 15 years. He was a master gardener who loved providing fresh produce for his family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Morrison, Danny Gann, Drury Kelley, Tim Harris, Chris Shaw, and Mike Morrison.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Larry Skelton, Andrea Stringfellow, DaVita Dialysis Nurse; Mattie Lee, Betty Shaw, Family & Friends on County Road 44, Friends at Taylor’s Chapel and Moundville Church of the Nazarene.
