Kimberly Lane Coburn, age 52, of Northport went to her heavenly home on  Monday August 15, 2022 at Hospice of West Alabama after a hard-fought battle with liver disease. Entombment will follow at Magnolia Mausoleum. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Oraby and “Pug” Robinson, her aunt and uncle, Claudine and Joe Marra, her aunt Charlotte Robinson.

She left behind the love of her life, for the last 24 years, her husband Stephen Douglas Colburn, her mother Janie Sue Robinson Grant, her sister Tammie Martin and brother-in-law Herman, her in-laws; Ronnie and Diane Colburn, sister-cousins; Suzette Davis Wyatt, Autumn and Kevin Harbison, Butch Robinson, Crystal McKenzie, two nephews-in-love; Davis Harbison and Jackson Harbison, and her aunt and uncle; Larry and Carrol Robinson. She is also survived by her fur babies Cooper and Cash.

Kim was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on October 12, 1969.  She grew up in Holt United Methodist Church where she learned to love the Lord. She graduated from Holt High School in 1988. She went on to earn an associate’s degree in Administrated Assistance from Shelton State Community College. For a number of years Kim worked in banking at the Tuscaloosa Mental Health Credit Union, and River Falls/ Tuscaloosa’s Teachers Credit Union.  Looking for a new direction in her career, Kim left the credit union and worked for Turning Point. For the past two years she was employed at the Tuscaloosa County Court House as a court specialist for the State of Alabama.

Kim always had a love for life, but her illness gave her a new perspective.  She knew how fragile life could be, so she set out to make the very best of her life, every single day.  She made time for the people and things she loved, like playing with her cats, girl’s trips to the beach with her BFFs, road trips and watching Alabama Football with her husband, spending time with her little ‘Dudes”, cook-outs with her family, flamingos, snowmen, watching, “I Love Lucy re-runs, her soaps, decorating for the holidays, anything to do with the 80’s, especial the clothes, the hair, and the music.  And last but not least, the color pink.

Kim had a huge heart that was always open to anyone who needed her. Her contagious smile and infectious laughter will be sorely missed by all who love her. Our loss is Heaven’s gain.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Davis, Tony Davis, Davis, Jackson and Kevin Harbison, and Butch Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be MICU at UAB, Dr. Keith and Mrs. Carol Debell, the staff of Tuscaloosa County Courthouse, Allison Smith, Amanda Atchenson, Karen and David Cottingham, Theresa and Jack Johnson, Amory Harris, Portia Shepherd, and Mercedes Zeigler.

In lieu of flowers, please make donation to Hospice of West Alabama.

Kim leaves behind a legacy of love. Love for her husband, her family and her friends
