Daniel Farley

Cottondale - Daniel C. Farley, age 71, of Cottondale, ALA., passed away at DCH Medical Center on Friday, July 26, 2019. Services for Mr. Farley will be on Monday, July 29, 2019, at 11:00 am at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Bro. Ray Hallman officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Funeral Home.

Daniel was preceded in death by his father and mother, Berry and Merlee Farley; sister, Dean Smith; daughter, Sandra Jones. Survivors include his wife, Janice; daughters, Kristy Hickman, Ginny (Charlie) Dawson, Kelly Jones, and Crystal (Ray) Ezell; sons Lonnie (Tacie) Farley and Johnny Jones; sister, Cathy McCaleb; grandchildren, Heather, Madison, Sam, Lane, Lonnie Jr., Logan, Neal, Cadentz, Derian, Nicholas, Matthew, Lela, and Morgan; and great-grandchildren, Alex, Wylder, and Elaine.

Daniel was born in Fayette County Alabama in 1947 to Berry and Merlee Farley. He joined the US Navy in 1965 and served two tours with honor in Vietnam earning the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He provided for his family driving a truck and painting until he retired. He lived his life for his children, grandbabies, his God, and Alabama Football on Saturdays. Daniel was the best friend and strongest man many of us will ever know.

Pallbearers will be Sam Hickman, JR Holley, Ronnie Holley, Mike Sager, Madison Hickman, and Nick Duncan. Honorary Pallbearers are extended family and friends.
