Zodie DeMoville Johnston DESTIN, FLA. Zodie DeMoville Johnston, age 84, of Destin, Fla., died November 30, 2013, at Fort Walton Beach Hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. today, December 3, 2013, at Boligee Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tom Sharon officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mark's Episcopal Cemetery in Boligee with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Pinkerton; her father, Fant Domoville; her stepfather, Ralph Pinkerton; her husband, Sage M. Johnston; and her son, Rick Lavender. She is survived by her sister, Betty Haas (Bob); her children, Tom Lavender (Sunee), Lisa Foley (Chuck), and Zodie Fisher (John); and her grandchildren, Chris Hamilton, Meredith Belkofer, Ashley Hamilton, Chad Lavender, Nick Foley, and Grant Foley. She was born in Boligee and raised in Perry, Fla., by her loving parents, Lillian and Ralph Pinkerton. She was a true southern lady with a love for life, traveling, and children. She brought joy to those around her with her quick wit and fun stories. She also loved watching and cheering for Alabama football. Pallbearers will be Rankin Belkofer, Chris Hamilton, Rick Johnson, Chad Lavender, Jeff Maples, Greg Pearson, Dan Smith, and Jonathan Smithgall.
