Willodean Davis Parris TUSCALOOSA | Willodean Davis Parris, age 93, of Tuscaloosa, died April 18, 2015, at home. Services will be 12 noon Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Bro. Ray Hallman officiating. Burial will follow in Walker Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Ala. with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be Tuesday one hour prior to services at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Parris; parents, William Verdie Davis and Ida Crittenden Davis; stepmother, Lucinda Taylor Davis; sisters, Earline Berry (Clayton), Vernell Pierce (W.D), Edna Bryson (Dan) and Doris Ruth Berry (Reynold). Survivors include her daughter, Sara Beth Hallman of Tuscaloosa; son, Hubert Davis Parris (Elaine) of Mobile; grandchildren, Michelle Hallman Eaton (Danny), Karen Hallman Wright (Justin), Ashley Hallman Balentine (Brandon), John Parris (Amber), Matt Parris (Laura), Mary Courtney (Jason), Micki Hendry (Bryan), and Laura Keeves (Shane); and great-grandchildren, Taylor and Sara Elizabeth Eaton, Landon and Kelsey Grace Wright, Paige and baby boy Parris on the way (Clayton), baby Balentine on the way, Cate, Jack and Kendall Courtney, Colin and Maddie Reeves. She was born in Winston County, Ala. and worked as a registered nurse at Walker County Hospital, Peoples Hospital (Jasper) and Bryan Whitfield Memorial Hospital (Demopolis). She was then elected to the Board of Directors for two terms until her retirement in 1985. Memaw, as she was known to many, was so dear to us and there is a void in our hearts, but we know she is in Heaven with Papaw and all of her family. She touched so many lives in her nursing career and was known for her kindness, love and care to all that came in contact with her. She will be greatly missed. Pallbearers will be Danny Eaton, Taylor Eaton, Justin Wright, Landon Wright, Brandon Balentine, John Parris and Matt Parris. Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors of Demopolis and Tuscaloosa, Ala., past and present employees of Bryan Whitfield Hospital, Amedisys Hospice and Home Health, Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center, Crimson Maintenance, Wright Painting, Cheryl Wright, caregivers, Frances Fluker, Dorothy Rice, Margaret Sherman, Angela Montgomery, Tommy Hallman, and Shelby Emerson and MRC Global.
