COKER - William Robert "Bobby" Perdue Jr., age 73, of Coker, Ala., died February 3, 2019, at home. Services will be at First Wesleyan Church on Thursday, February 7, 2019. Visitation will begin at 10:00 until 11:45 with a celebration of life starting at 12:00. Rev. Scott Moore, Rev. John Vaughan, and Rev. Dick Emery will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home directing. He was preceded in death by his father, William Robert Perdue Sr.; mother, Evelyn Perdue; and brother, Joe Perdue. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Margaret Perdue; sons, Trae Perdue (Tarah), Ross Perdue (Amy), and Wes Perdue (Hollie); brother, Ray Perdue (Marsha), eight loving grandchildren; Brody Perdue, Davis Perdue, Britt Perdue, Anna Perdue, Allie Perdue, Brylie Perdue, Bennett Perdue, and Ella Claire Perdue; and a host of nieces and nephews. Bobby lived his entire life in Coker, Alabama and had a true love for his community of friends and relatives. Bobby was known for his love for the Lord, his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a family centered man and loved spending time with his wife and family. Some of his favorite things were teaching Sunday school at First Wesleyan Church and attending sporting events for his grandchildren. He loved the outdoors and was often found working in his flowerbeds and filling his birdfeeders.
His family asks that during the services cheerful colors be worn to celebrate his life. Pallbearers will be Brody Perdue, Davis Perdue, Matt Perdue, Brian Strawbridge, Robert Hall, Bobby Hughes, Larry Miles, and Don Pugh. The honorary pallbearers are the First Wesleyan New Life Sunday school class members, Kim and Joe Kochevar, Steve and Glenda Fair, Mack and Nell Fair, and James and Nancy Dummitt. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Wesleyan Church childrens or youth ministry.
