William Daniel "Dan"� Morrison NORTHPORT | William Daniel "Dan" Morrison, age 89, of Northport, Alabama, died April 6, 2015, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Northport First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Croft and Rev. Mike Spivey officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Burial will follow at Bone Camp Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.W. Morrison; sister, Earnestine Morrison Davis and her husband, Clifford; and brother, Paul Warren Morrison. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mildred Chism Morrison; son and daughter-in-law Tom and Stasha Morrison; sister Loretta Kornegey; granddaughter, Tara M. Milligan (Alan); grandson, Caleb Morrison; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dan was a Boy Scout Master, Little League coach, member of Northport First Methodist Church for 67 years (choir member, Sunday School teacher/member of JL Peters' class, and Board of Stewards). He retired from BF Goodrich after nearly 40 years of service, was a Northport City Councilman for 20 years, and once filled in as Northport mayor for 18 months. Dan was a member of the J. Collier Foster Masonic Lodge, and, due to his dedication and hard work for his beloved Northport, he was named the city's 2011 Citizen of the Year. Pallbearers will be Caleb Morrison, William Prewitt, Charles Wayne Davis, David Chism, Eddie Chism, and Mike Chism. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Northport First United Methodist Church, Hospice of West Alabama, or their favorite charity.
