William Brown

William (Bill) Herman Brown, 84, of Northport, Alabama passed away on May 17, 2018 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Magnolia Chapel North in Northport, Alabama. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Williamson Cemetery in downtown Northport.

Bill was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Virgil and Sarah Brown on August 4, 1933. He was raised by Alton and Roberta Brown. He graduated from Tuscaloosa County High school in 1953 and married Sada Beth Williams on August 31, 1957 in Reno, Nevada.

Bill was preceded in death by his birth parents Virgil and Sarah Brown, the parents who raised him, Alton (Bud) and Roberta Brown, siblings Alton (Mac) Brown, Rodney Brown, Willa Mae White, brothers-in-law Warren Koester, Bob White and John Allen and sister-in-law Reba Brown.

He is survived by his loving spouse and best friend of over 60 years, Sada Beth Williams Brown; his daughters Voni Brown Wyatt, Juanita Beth Hoven (Jim), and Jill Brown Giron (Jose); siblings Nancy Koester, James (JV) Brown (Mary), Frances Allen; sisters-in-law Janet Brown and Beverly Brown; his five grandchildren Julia Hoven, William Wyatt, Jamie Hoven, Ana Giron, and Jose (Blit) Giron; and numerous nieces and nephews who held a very special place in his heart. He will also be remembered by many special friends, and his neighbors in Northwood Lake, whose lives he impacted by offering his always well thought out and sound advice, his talent for being able to fix or build anything, and his love for his family and friends.

He was an entrepreneur and successful in many fields of work including real estate, technical services and hotel ownership and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Bill enjoyed helping others and was never idle. He was a talented and creative man who loved a challenging project.

Pallbearers will be Jose Giron, Jose (Blit) Giron, Jim Hoven, William Wyatt, Andres Novoa, and David Wyatt. Honorary pallbearers are the employees of Lowe's and Home Depot.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Humane Society of West Alabama. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the MICU nurses, Dr.Jeffery Laubenthal, Dr. James Robinson and Dr. Monica Bui for her kindness during this difficult time and a special thank you to Dr. William Hill for 42 years of care and support.
