Willard Jones

Willard E. "Bill" Jones, age 64, of Northport, died Aug. 24, 2011, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Jerry Montgomery and Rev. Jesse Boggan officiating. Burial will follow in New Liberty Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Rayford Jones, Sr. of El Paso, Texas and Mary Rosa Kersey of Northport; and his brother, J.R. Jones, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Virginia L. Jones of Northport; his daughter, Pamela Barrett of Deatsville; his son, Ryan Jones; and his grandchildren, Logan Jones, Tanner Barrett, and Brooke Barrett. He retired from Alabama Power Company. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. His three grandchildren were his pride and joy. "Grandad" will be greatly missed. Pallbearers will be Logan Jones, Tanner Barrett, Jamie Jones, Jason Jones, Jimmy Oswalt, Harley Harrison, and Daryl Boggan. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Brian Wilhite and current and retired employees of Alabama Power.
