Willa Dean Jones Cook
MOUNDVILLE - Willa Dean Jones Cook entered into rest September 12, 2018 at home. Born June 23, 1921, she was known as "Mawmaw" by many in the community as well as her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Wade Cook; daughter, Carol Cook Leavelle; granddaughter, DeShay Hardy Harless; and grandson, Tyler James Cook.
Survivors include her daughter, Sue Cook Hardy (Butch) of Moundville; sons, William Wade Cook (Sara) of Akron, Kenneth Wayne Cook (Paula) of Moundville and James Darrell Cook (Sibyle) of Greensboro; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, September 14, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South. Graveside funeral services will be held at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018 with Rev. Arthur Thomas and Mr. Toby Watkins officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Stephen Browne, employees of Hospice Alabama and members of New Hope Baptist Church.
