Viola B. Yaw / TUSCALOOSA Viola B. Yaw age 82, stepped into Heaven June 9, 2013 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be Wednesday June 12, 2013 at Skyland Blvd. Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Garner, Rev. Jim Headley and Rev. Gary Hill officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Visitation will be Tuesday night June 11 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at Skyland Blvd. Baptist. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Yaw, Sr.; parents Burton Lee Beck and Lorrene H. Beck; one brother Thomas Beck and one sister Mary Howard. Survivors include her daughters; Carol Yaw Avery of Tuscaloosa, and Katherine Yaw Farris (Phillip) of Wetumpka, Al. her son; Robert C. Yaw, Jr. (Jan) of Tuscaloosa, two sisters Mildred Elora Brewer of Tuscaloosa and Martha Ann Skelton of Northport, two brothers; Richard Lee Beck of Northport and Charles Edward Beck of Carbon Hill, Al. and her Grandchildren; Heather Yaw Rafferty (Conner) of Tuscaloosa, Andrea-Carol Farris Carter (Joshua) of Wetumpka, Robert C. Yaw III (Jennifer) of Tuscaloosa, Haley Katherine Avery (Justin Shaw) of Tuscaloosa, Joshua Philip Farris (Katryn Moore and Kynzleigh of Wetumpka, two great grandaughters Bella Grace and Sofie Ann Rafferty of Tuscaloosa and one soon to be great gandson Brock James Carter of Wetumpka. Great grandaughhters; Hensley Claire and Emma Hayden de los Reyes of Tuscaloosa and Amelia Grace Patricia Breece of Franklin, TN. Step Grandchildren; Kristi Jayne (Jason), Ashley Kirkland (Jonathan) of Tuscaloosa, step great grandsons; Brylan and Kyler Jayne of Tuscaloosa and Paxton Kirkland of Tuscaloosa. She is also survived by Dr. Joven delos Reyes (Amelia), Maria Pizzaro of Tuscaloosa, Madonna delos Reye Breece (Scott) of Franklin,TN, Jay Rico delos Reyes (Errica) of Tuscaloosa. Viola was born on July 22, 1930 in Tuscaloosa, she married the love of her life, Robert C. Yaw, Sr. on November 4, 1950. They were married for 52 wonderful years. Viola retired from the Tuscaloosa City Schools with about 30 years of faithful service. She was married to Worth Nickoles for two years in 2006 who also precedes her in death. She was an active member of Skyland Blvd. Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had a very loving heart and was known by many as Mama Yaw. She will be greatly missed by many friends and family. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Robby Yaw, Joshua Farris, Connor Rafferty, Justin Shaw, Marc delos Reyes, Mario Pizzaro, Jim Bradford, Jim Singley, Wayne Seale, and Parks Burgin. Honorary Pallbearers are Hannah Class of Skyland Blvd. Baptist Church, Funeral Committee of Skyland Baptist Church, Members of Skyland and Ridgecrest Baptist Churches, Fiddle -Dee Dee Red Hats Club, caregivers Christy Montgomery, Gloria Lyles, and Brenda Boothe. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Building Funds of Skyland Blvd. Baptist and Ridgecrest Baptist Churches.
