Verlie Lewis Averette MARION Verlie Lewis Averette, age 77, of Marion, died June 26, 2013, in Hale County. Services will be 10 a.m. today at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Rev. Ray Grantham and Rev. Brandon Averette officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Holiness Church Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Justin Averette and Owen Averette. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Nell Averette; daughters, Janice Smith of Greensboro, and Debra Snead (Chuck) of Tuscaloosa; sons, Toby (Susan) of Marion, Jerry (Tabitha) of Brent, Ronnie (Renee) of Mobile, and Mike (Charlene) of Marion; one sister; one brother; 12 grandchildren, Wade Sluder, Monica Crawford, Chris Averette, Jerilyn Smitherman, Jackie Palmer, Jeremy Averette, Jarrod Averette, Michelle Simmons, Chad Averette, Brandon Averette, Hayden Averette, and Hunter Averette; and 14 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
