He leaves behind wife of 71 years, Elinor Jean Parker; son, Richard Parker (Linda); daughters, Linda Jean Parker, Donna Carver and Terri Reynolds (Tom); brother, Raymond Parker (Helen); sister, Doris Howell; eight grandchildren; great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Tossie, a WWII veteran, went into the Army just out of high school. Doing a 13 year stint, he served under Gen. George Patton as a tank driver, then going into the Navy for 14 years as a Seabee retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He was a master carpenter starting as a lock and dam builder going on to work for several big contractors as Superintendent building everything from houses to shopping center complexes. He later went into business for himself with son Richard building spiral staircases and custom woodwork. He was well known and loved by many in the construction field. Tossie loved work and wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty, he retired at 75 not because he wanted to but his vision had gotten too bad for him to produce the caliber of work he wanted and always turned out. He loved gardening and fishing when he was younger but his honest passion and favorite hobby was work. If a friend or neighbor needed anything done he would go out of his way to help them out. He was a Mason for many years and lived the life of a Mason, God fearing and humble, quiet yet strong minded, he was the kind of father every person would have loved to have had.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Parker, Sam Hardin, James Fields, Trent Reynolds, Shannon Acre, Jamie Parker, Hollie Williams, and Marlon Dunn.
