Tony Savell

Tony Jack Savell, age 63, of Northport, Alabama, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 18, 2023. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Lakewood Baptist Church with services immediately following at 1:00 p.m. Bro. Brad Hartsfield, Bro. Tony Scarbrough, and Bro. William Savell will officiate. Burial will be in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel North directing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Bonnie Savell; sister, Sue Lucas; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Savell and Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Bounds.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Phyllis Savell; son, Christian Savell (Stephanie); sister, Sandra Winstead (Terrell); sisters-in-law, Naomi Markham and Bess Peters (John); aunt, Frankie Savell Saxton; uncle, Prent Savell (Thelma); honorary aunt, Nancy Townsend (Harvey); several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tony was born in Union, Mississippi on November 9, 1959. He and his family moved to Tuscaloosa in 2005. Tony worked for Walmart his entire professional career until he retired. He was a Godly husband and father and demonstrated his faith through his actions. He was a member Lakewood Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Scott Gilliland, Petey Peters, Dr. Brian Hochstein, Robert Savell, Jimmy Ogletree, and Neil Hobson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to The Gideons International to fund Gideon Bibles at P.O. Box 77, Northport, AL 35476.
