Thurman Gibson

Thurman Gerroy "Roy" Gibson, age 78, of Brookwood, died June 27, 2017, at UAB West. A private service will be held. Arrangements are being handled by Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Gibson and his son, Ronnie Gibson. Survivors include his daughters, DeLisha (Dee Dee) Parker and Andrea Stanley; sons, Bobby Gibson, Randy Gibson, Royce Gibson, Joe Steele and Phillip Steele; and 17 grandchildren. Roy served in the Army. He was a member of Elks Lodge and a lifelong oil field worker. He loved his friends at the Huddle House and his dog "Bubba." The family would like to give a special thanks to UAB West ICU Unit and Dr. John Issis.
