Thomas "Crit" McNutt, Jr., of Northport, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020, at his home. Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Carroll's Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Roggli officiating and Magnolia Chapel North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas C. McNutt, Sr.; brother, James Kelley; and nephew Zachary McNutt.
Survivors include his spouse Fredricka B. McNutt of Northport, Al; daughter, Adrienne M. Gann of Northport, Al; son, Thomas (Cris) McNutt III (Teresa) of Northside, Al; brother, Robert Lee McNutt of Tuscaloosa, Al; grandchildren, Benjamin Thomas McNutt of Tuscaloosa, Al, Jace T. McNutt of Northside, Al., Jesslyn Hope McNutt of Tuscaloosa, and Madison Faythe Gann of Northport.
Thomas was born in 1941 in Dora, Alabama. In 1948, he moved to Carbon Hill, Al., where he attended Carbon Hill Baptist Church and there, he was saved as a pre-teen. He was always very active in the church throughout his whole life. He graduated high school in 1959 from Carbon Hill High School, where he was an outstanding athlete in football and baseball.
He meet and married Fredricka Bryan in 1963 and resided in Nauvoo, Alabama and had a son and a daughter. In 1994, he was ordained as a deacon at Liberty Grove Church. In 1996, he moved his family to Northport, Alabama and became an active member of Carroll's Creek Baptist Church.
He was a people person and enjoyed entertaining and fellowship with others. His goal was to share the gospel and his testimony, so others may come to know the Lord.
He loved his family dearly and cherished the times that we were all together.
He will always be loved and remembered but never forgotten or removed from our hearts.
Pallbearers will be Ben McNutt, Jace McNutt, Jason Thomas, Kim Byram, Nicholas Byram, Kenneth Townley, Don Clark, and Barry Edwards.
Hnorary pallbeaers are Jerry Roger's Kingsment SS Class.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Carroll's Creek Baptist Church or Gideons.
