Tanya Howard Bonds, age 44 of Greensboro, died August 5, 2018 at her home. Services will be held on Friday August 10, 2018 at 10:30AM at the Greensboro Baptist Chruch with Reverend Steve Vernon officiating. Burrial will follow at Oakwood-Martin Cemetary in Greensboro. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Greensboro Bible Methodist Church from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
Tanya is preceded in death by her father Ralph Wayne Howard and grandparents Preston Howard , Mattie Lee Howard and W.J. Seale.
Surviors include her husband John Craig Bonds, sons Colton John Poole (father John Poole) and Brettman Howard Bonds, mother Bonnie Seale Lancaster (Don), step-mother Sarah Maddox, grandmother Selma Ruth Seale, brother Patrick Howard (Karilee), nephew Preston Howard, niece Ainsley Howard, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends she loved dearly.
Tanya was born on March 29, 1974 in Tuscaloosa, AL. She attended Warrior Academy in Eutaw until the tenth grade when she moved to Greensboro and graduated from Greensboro HIgh School in 1992. She received a degree in nursing from Shelton State Community College and later worked as a nurse at Hale County Hospital. Tanya was also licensed as an EMT and was employed by Hale County EMS as an EMT and most recently as office manager. Tanya had a vivacious spirit and infectious laugh that touched the lives of so many people. Tanya leaves behind many friends but the most important people in her life were family. Her sons were her heart and she lived to give them the best life that she possibly could. She loved taking trips with her boys and one of her favorite places was the beach. Tanya was an amazing sister and was a strong and loyal person and someone that would stand by you through thick and thin. Her beloved Daddy's passing left a huge hole in her life 17 months ago and she is now together again with her "Rock" by her side.
Pallbearers are Carl Corley, William Bunn, Winn Jones, Russell Weeden, Scott Jones, and Sonny Weaver.
Honorary pallbearers are Hale County EMS past and present staff and board members, Hale County Hospital Staff and Home Health, Hale County 911, Hale County Law Enforcement agencies, Hale County Fire Association, Capstone Claims employees, Colonial Haven employees, Moundville Health and Rehab employees, Dr. Larry Skelton and staff, Don Meyers, Charlsey "Tot" Tubbs, Bennie Abrams, Glenn Davis, and Kristin Johnson.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to an account that will be set up for her two sons at the Citizens Bank in Greensboro.
