Susie Inez Pate Matherson MOUNDVILLE Susie Inez Pate Matherson, age 98, of Moundville, died July 14, 2013, at Moundville Health and Rehab. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Moundville Baptist Church with Rev. Edwin King and Rev. Brandon Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Moundville with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be Wednesday one hour prior to services at the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis H. "Sam"� Matherson; daughter, Gwen Ellis; sisters, Annie M. Stokes and Mary Odess Hammonds; brother, Hopson Pate; and granddaughter, Brenda Ellis. Survivors include her son, Jerry L. Matherson (Carolyn) of Moundville; grandsons, Samuel Matherson and Brad Matherson; and granddaughters, Regenia Summerlin, Sandra Fondren (Larry), and Nancy Key (Porter). Susie was a member of Moundville Baptist Church and a lifetime resident of Moundville. Pallbearers will be Danny Matherson, Don Rainer, Billy Stokes, Wayne Hammonds, George Tucker, and Roy Creel. Honorary pallbearers are staff of Moundville Health and Rehab and citizens of Moundville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Little Sandy Baptist Church Building Fund.
