Stephen Curtis McCracken

Stephen Curtis McCracken, 69 of Tuscaloosa, passed away May 19, 2024 at home. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 10:00 am at Magnolia Chapel South with Rev. Rick Davis officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Visitation will be held at the chapel one hour prior to the service.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Ora and Bradley McCracken, grandparents; Wilburn and Verda Brown and Clarence Cordie McCracken.

Survivors include his wife Cynthia McCracken, daughters; Lindsey Smith, Haley McCracken (Kevin James), brother; Stan McCracken (Leigh), "sister" Sandi Hubbard grandchildren; Gage Smith (Maddie), Lisa Smith (Seth), Kinsley James, great granddaughter; Charlotte "Charlie" Cartwright, niece; Jada Woodruff, nephews; John David McCracken, Jonathan Hubbard and great nephews; Miller Hubbard and Brock Woodruff.

Steve was an amazing husband, father, PawPaw and great-grandfather. He loved his family dearly but above all loved the Lord. He read his Bible daily, attended church every Sunday (in person or online) and often discussed the importance of salvation with his family.

He graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1973. Throughout his life he worked as a grocery sales representative, mortgage loan officer, real estate agent, and security officer.

He had a love for golf and even played with the Pros. He also enjoyed playing guitar, collecting guns and Alabama football.

He was the life of any gathering. He had a unique sense of humor and would always put a smile on your face.

His wife, daughters and grandchildren were the light of his world and everyone that knew him would tell you the same.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gregg Mitchell, Mike Walker, Robert Wallace, Mike Honeycutt, John Mauro, Dr. Kamal and Cardiology Associates of West Alabama, Dr. George Chang, Dr. James Chang (Emory Hospital), Dr. William Jordan, Dr. Richard Rosenthal, Tuscaloosa High School class of 1973, and Woodland Forrest Country Club.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The American Heart Association.
