Shirley Gray NORTHPORT | Shirley Gray passed away August 8, 2014 surrounded by his family at Hospice of West Alabama at the age of 79. Services will be 4 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 at Magnolia Chapel North with Dr. John Nixon officiating. Eulogy by Michael Gray. Private burial will follow in Williamson Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Magnolia Chapel North from 6 to 8 p.m. Magnolia Chapel North Directing. Shirley was preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Iola Gray; brothers Aubrey and Truman S. Gray, Jr. He is survived by the love of his life of 53 years wife Martha Gray; son, Michael Gray; daughter-in-law, Peggy Gray; three granddaughters, Michelle, Megan and Maribeth Gray; great- granddaughter, Hallie Grace Gray; sister, Linda Ellison; two brothers, Frank and Bobby Gray; and many special nieces and nephews. Shirley loved life. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family. We are thankful for the amazing grace of God which brought Shirley peace, joy hope and eternal life. Pallbearers will be Gregg Gray, Richard Rickle, Robby Davis, Jack Miles, Mark Schofield, Tony Newman, and David Harrison. Honorary pallbearers are Northport Baptist Church, Howell Sunday School Class, Hospice of West Alabama, Dr. Keith and Mrs. Carol DeBell, friends and neighbors of 39th Street Pebble Creek, and his golfing buddies. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama or Northport Baptist Church building fund.
