Sharon Rylee May TUSCALOOSA - Sharon Rylee May, age 59, of Tuscaloosa, passed away surrounded by her family and friends at home on January 19, 2016. Services will be held at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South at 11 a.m. on January 22, 2016, with Rev. Arthur Thomas officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Sharon will be laid to rest at the New Hope Baptist Church cemetery in Hale County with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Rylee and brother, Allen Ryle. Sharon is survived by her husband, Patrick May of Cottondale, Ala. and her son, Hugh E. "Hoss" Gowan, Jr. of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; her mother, Lena Cook Rylee of Tuscaloosa, Ala., brother, Tom Rylee of Madison, Ala.; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Sharon loved her family, her church, many friends and her work. Sharon moved to Talladega so her son could attend the Talladega School for the Deaf and Blind and worked for a construction company for over 14 years. After moving back to Tuscaloosa, she was an outstanding employee at Hall-Taylor Construction Company who will miss her and her work ethics and skills. Sharon loved many things including the home she, Pat and Hugh had been working on the past 3 years. She loved Rosedale Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was a part of a large group of past high school friends whom she really enjoyed being with. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Wes Rylee, Glenn Rylee, Matthew Rylee and Clay Rylee; cousins, Ronnie Henry, Doug Henry, Roger Taylor, Jerry Humphries, Donald Cook, Y C Taylor, Sammy Taylor, Ray Taylor and Randy Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers are Hall-Taylor Construction Company employees, Rosedale Baptist Church, Vicky Brown and the Deaf Ministry of Calvary Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist Church, THS Classes of 1973, 1974 and 1975, Lewis & Faye Manderson Cancer Center doctors and nurses and the wonderful nurses and doctors of Hospice of West Alabama. Sharon would want to thank the nurses and doctors at the Lewis & Faye Manderson Cancer Center, Hospice of West Alabama and her personal caregiver, Debbie Holley, her loving friend and cousin.
