Sarah C. Turnipseed TUSCALOOSA Sarah C. Turnipseed "Maw Maw" passed away peacefully at DCH Regional Medical Center on Sunday afternoon, September 22, 2013. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with the Rev. Bart Latner officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, David Elijah and Georgia Clements; sisters, Maude Hunt and Mary Noland; and brothers-in-law, Mac Hunt, Raiford Noland, Sr. and John McCary. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Charles P Turnipseed; son, David Turnipseed (Rhonda); Susie Dailey (Ronnie); grandchildren, Stan Turnipseed (Ellen), Joni Nichols, Marc Turnipseed (Audrey), Beth Crocker, and Ben Dailey (Miranda); great-grandchildren, Chandler, Patton, Mills, Stanton, Madison, Sara Kate, Rhett, Lyla Brooke, Mize, Hayden, and Hailey; sister-in-law, Mae McCary and a host of family and friends. Sarah was a 1947 graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School. She was active in GiIgal Baptist Church for many years until her health deteriorated. Thereafter, each Sunday the family would gather at her home and have lunch together. Maw Maw always had something to eat to offer anyone who came by to see her and Paw Paw. She was truly a dear lady, and will be greatly missed by all. We are all sure, that she has already made a pan of cornbread and enjoyed sharing it and a stick of butter with her Heavenly Father. Pallbearers will be Stan Turnipseed, Marc Turnipseed, Ronnie Dailey, Justin Nichols, Raiford Noland, Horace Haynes, George Hunt, and Ben Dailey. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Taylorville Community, Gilgal Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class, Duncanville Volunteer Fire Department, Mitchell Water System, the ACCU unit at DCH, Northport Medical Center and the Emergency Department, JamisonMoneyFarmer PC, employees of David Turnipseed and Co., Onita Cooper, Gerald Allen, Mae Tant, Susan Shows, Tina Bragg, Rhonda Doss, Drs. Brown, Graham, Crew, Hughes, Azam, and Kamal, special nurses Kelly Lisenbe and Teresa Taylor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice .
