TUSCALOOSA} Sarah Elizabeth Stanley Garner went to meet Mama, Papa and Billy "Blue" in their Heavenly home on March 24, 2018. What a reunion that must have been. She was born March 20, 1930 in Brookwood, Alabama. Sarah was a lifelong resident of Tuscaloosa except for a brief time spent in Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her mother and father Martha Jane and William Dewey (Bill) Stanley and her brother Hosmer Phillip (Billy Blue) Stanley. She leaves behind four children Rodney Garner (Wanda), Larry Garner, Debra Shelton (Terry) and Stan Garner (Nancy) all of Tuscaloosa County along with her beloved grandchildren; Cindi Sonnier (Robbie), Chad Garner (Shawna), Lari Nicole Ellis (Clint), Wesley Garner, Ashley Cowan (Shey), Roman Shaul (Caroline), Seth Shaul (Missy), Dax Lott, Tyler Garner (Ali) and Reid Garner. She was blessed to have known all 19 of her great grandchildren. Special people who contributed to her life were Mark and Mike Stanley, Julie Holman and Ronda Stanley. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her end of life caregivers Wesley Garner (nephew) and Ashley Hallman Ballantine of AlaCare Home Health who encouraged and loved her to the end. Others are too numerous to mention. Sarah was a kind and generous person that refused to carry a grudge and believed strongly in forgiveness. She loved her family and friends very deeply and was a beloved friend, wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She often stated that helping raise her grandchildren was the most joyous and gratifying experience of her life. She will be sorely missed, but her love, spirit and beauty will continue in those she touched throughout her life and will be carried on for generations to come. The greatest joy we have is that because of the love and sacrifices of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we will see her again. There are no final goodbyes. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in her memory to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35404
