Sarah Sharp Owens, of Tuscaloosa, died November 19, 2017 at Forest Manor. Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Rev. Kevin Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia South Mausoleum with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be 2:30-3 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Clayton Sharp and Jessie Bailes Sharp; brothers, Hughes C. Sharp and Michael C. Sharp; husband, Charles E. Owens, Sr.; and sisters-in-law, Doris Owens and Frances Owens. She is survived by her daughters, Cathy O. Wooldridge (Bobby), Susan O. Delashaw (Mark) and Debbie O. Peake (Erwin); son, Charles Edward Owens, Jr. (Donna); sister, Mary S. Propes; brother, Thomas C. Sharp (Paula); grandchildren, Clay Wooldridge (Emily), Sonny Peake (Kristy), John Delashaw (Sarah), Robby Wooldridge (Andrea), Cole Owens (Amy), Justin Peake Alan Delashaw (Meghann), Apryl Eatman (Eric) and Andrea Patterson (Cory). Sarah was born in Huntsville, Alabama and grew up in Alexandria. Dedicating her career to education, she completed her undergraduate work at Jacksonville State University, before obtaining graduate and post-graduate degrees from The University of Alabama. She taught and was an administrator in several school systems for 36 years, including the Tuscaloosa County and City school systems and the Jasper City system before retiring in the Vestavia Hills system. She was a member of PDK and a Silver Sister of Alpha Delta Kappa, as well as being active in the United Methodist Women, the Red Hat Club and the Worthwhile Study Club. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Caring Days of Tuscaloosa.
