Sarah Evelyn South Morris NORTHPORT - Sarah Evelyn (South) Morris, age 87, of Northport, passed away Sunday, June, 5, 2016, at Heritage Health Care & Rehabilitation. Sarah enjoyed traveling, volunteering at DCH Regional Medical Center in Northport, playing dominoes, singing in the Northport Baptist Church Choir, playing with the Handbell Choir, and she was an active member of the Northport Trailblazers. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She was especially happy to be present at the engagement of her oldest grandchild, (Sarah Beth Morris, her namesake) on Christmas Eve. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Morris and her son, James "Jimmy" Morris. She is survived by her sons, Michael Morris (Karen), of Huntsville Alabama, and Carey Morris (Julie) of St. Louis, Missouri and her grandchildren, Sarah Beth (fiancé Judson Hinsley), Rebekah and Hannah Morris of Huntsville, and Christopher and Kelsey Morris of St. Louis Missouri. Visitation for Mrs. Morris will be Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Magnolia Chapel North from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 8 at Magnolia Chapel North at 11:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow the service at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Pallbearers will be Judson Hinsley, Terry Jacobs, Byron Sprayberry, Dr. Terry Carlson, Roe Pitts and Bobby Cockrell. Honorary pallbearers are Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Brannan, Dr. and Mrs. Norman Carlson, Mrs. Maxie Mitchell, Mrs. And Mrs. Donald Springer, Dr. and Mrs. John Hinton, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hale. Ms. Barbara Summerlin, Mrs. Peggy Rich, Member of the Northport Baptist Chancel Choir, Members of the Northport Baptist Trailblazer, West Alabama Hospice Care, and her dominoes playing friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to Northport Baptist Church.
