Samuel Leland Dockery COKER | Samuel Leland Dockery, age 87, of Coker, died July 10, 2014, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2014, at Cornelius Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Andy Dockery officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to services at the church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Fay Dockery; father, Roy Jackson Dockery; mother, Nora Williams Dunkling (Claude Dunkling); son, Edward Dockery; brothers, Edward Leroy Dockery, Billy Dunkling, J.C. Dunkling, and L.C. Dunkling; and granddaughter, Melissa Dockery. Survivors include his daughters, Ellene Burt and Barbara Walker; son, Douglas S. Dockery (Sharon); daughter-in-law, Karen Dockery; sisters, Esther Hannah; Lois Bradford (Arnold) and Barbara Smith; brother, Dewey Dunkling; grandchildren, Stephen Dockery (Mandy), Cindy Dockery, Sam Dockery (Denee'), Mike Dockery (Celia), Tammy Walker, Danny Walker (April), Amye Hinson (Brian), John Burt (Kacey), and David Burt (Jamie); and 13 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are retirees from B.F. Goodrich, Hardee's Gang from Northport, and friends neighbors from Buhl and Coker, and Dr.'s, nurses, and staff of Hospice of West Alabama.
