Roy Donald Davis MOUNDVILLE - Roy Donald Davis, age 87, passed away on November 1, 2016. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 4, at Oakhill Cemetery in Moundville with Reverends Thomas Terry and Bill Curtin officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Roy Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Susie Davis and daughters Cheryl Matherson and Dianne Abernathy. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margaret Davis; daughter, Cindy Polinsky (Gregg); sister, Mae Tant; granddaughters, Megan Waters (Thomas), Abby Polinsky and Brooke Polinsky; former sons-in-law, Joe Abernathy and Danny Matherson; several nieces and nephews; and a special great-grandson, Remington Waters. Roy Donald worked at the Alabama Power Company for over 40 years. He was a member of the Moundville United Methodist Church for over seven decades, serving in all leadership positions and singing in the church choir. The family would like to give a special thanks to all of his neighbors and caregivers, especially Rick McClelland, Jamie Robertson and Cleveland Winn.
