Ronald Pate

Ronald ("Ronnie") Thurston Pate of Tuscaloosa, AL passed away at his home on May 8th, 2023, he was 65. He was born to Wilmer Gene Pate and Bevlyn Boothe Pate on January 24,1958 at Druid City Hospital.

Ronnie is preceded by his step mother Drexal Pate and he is survived by his former wife, Karen Pate Joinson and his son Daniel Pate of Richmond, VA.

Ronnie grew up just west of Tuscaloosa and lived in the area until he was 23 and in 1981 he moved down to Baldwin County. In 1984, his only child, Daniel was born. While in the Gulf Shores area, Ronnie started a masonry business that he ran for nearly 20 years - most of his work was done along the gulf coast in Baldwin and Mobile counties. After Daniel graduated high school and joined the military, Ronnie moved back to his home, Tuscaloosa.

To say that he never met a stranger, would be an understatement to say the least. He didn't worry about the judgment of others - he lived in the moment. Ronnie also loved many of the simpler things in life - sitting by the river or Mobile Bay to watch the sunset...or on a hot day, finding a shade tree and listening to the birds sing. He also loved watching old western TV shows and Alabama football, Roll Tide Roll.
