Ronald "Ron" G Kibodeaux, age 77, passed away peacefully in his sleep April 21st, 2022.
A 3:00 pm service will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Magnolia Chapel South with Rev. Scott McCowan officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Entombment will follow at Magnolia Mausoleum.
He was born on Sept 23, 1944, in Crowley, Louisiana to Joseph and Esther Kibodeaux. For the last 12 years he lived with his sister, Gerri and brother-in-law, Dan W. Moore in Northport, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Joseph and Esther Kibodeaux.
He is survived by his sister, Gerri (Dan W) Moore; two nieces, Kristie (Shawn) Smith and Stacie (Brian) Flinn and one nephew, Dan J (Courtney) Moore. He had eight "grandchildren" through his nieces and nephew. Tristan Smith; Madison, Bailey, and Taylor Flinn; and Zoe, Drew, Cooper, and Parker Moore; all whom he loved and adored as if they were his own. He is also survived by a special friend of the family, Teresa Fitzhenry.
He was a Navy man at heart and served in the Vietnam War. After returning home from Vietnam, he went to work for Dupont in Houston, Texas. It was from there that he would retire after more than 25 years of service due to a medical disability. He enjoyed meeting new people and was equally loved by everyone who knew him. In more recent years, he used his free time by taking up woodworking as a hobby. His love of birdhouses became his specialty item. He was a member of Central Church of Christ since his arrival to Tuscaloosa in 2009.
