Roberta Elliott Jenkins TUSCALOOSA | Roberta Elliott Jenkins, age 85, of Tuscaloosa, died November 8, 2014, in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at Moundville United Methodist Church with Rev. Grant Parker and Rev. Bill Curtin officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Eufaula, Ala., with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the church. She was preceded in death by her father, Grady Elliott; mother, Belle Elliott; brother, Clarence Mills Elliott; and son, Marvin H. Jenkins Jr. Survivors include her husband, Marvin H. "Jug" Jenkins; daughters, Jane Jenkins Bridges (Gary) and Sharon Jenkins Moore (Lin); brothers, D.G. Elliott (Dorothy) and Wallace Elliott (Carolyn); grandchildren, Hannah, Caleb, Meggie, and Claire Bridges, and McLean Moore; and great-grandchild, Oliver Bridges. She was born March 21, 1929, in Moundville, Ala. She married Marvin H. "Jug" Jenkins on June 10, 1951, and they were married for 63 years. She was very involved in her church, and loved baking, gardening, and entertaining. She was an excellent seamstress and had a beautiful personality. Pallbearers will be Gary Bridges, Lin Moore, Caleb Bridges, Johnny Elliott, Jeff Whittington, and Clifford Cole. Honorary pallbearers are David Elliott, Scott Elliott, Lawrence "Banny" Smithson, Lucy Gregory Harris, Madie Irene Poole, Sharon Hollie, nurses and staff of Morning Pointe Assisted Living, Dot Bailey, Lyda Pearl Robinson, Mary Ann Avery, and Mary Frances Crawford. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Marvin H. Jenkins Jr. Scholarship Fund at First United Methodist Church of Eufaula, Ala., P.O. Box 72, Eufaula, AL 36072.
