Robert Pate

Robert Orville Pate, age 72, of Buhl, died Nov. 5, 2011, at Northport Medical Center-DCH. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Buhl Church of God in Buhl with Rev. Ken Andrews and Rev. Vaughan Burroughs officiating. Burial will follow in Pate Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Pate; and his parents, Julius C. Pate and Roberta Pate Cargile. Survivors include his daughter, Donna Pate Hughes; his sons, Elvis O. Pate (Sue) and Julius C. Pate (Susan); his brother, Allen "Jed"� Pate; his grandchildren, Erika Humber, Crystal Pate, Allison Montgomery, Lacey Pate, Amber Butt, Joshua Hughes, and Greg Goodman; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and other family members. Mr. Pate was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, a forever friend, and a friend to all. He was a baseball coach in the Buhl community for years and had a heart of God. Pallbearers will be Josh Hughes, Frank Christian, Ward Christian, Greg Goodman, Jack Christian, Ken Skelton, Jamie Skelton, Scott Pate, Mike Pate, Shane Pate, and Howard Earl Jacobs. Honorary pallbearers include a host of friends and family and the Buhl Church of God.
