Robert Giles

Robert “Drake” Giles, 30, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021, at DCH Regional Hospital in Tuscaloosa, AL from covid pneumonia. Drake was born August 24, 1991, in Tupelo, Mississippi. He lived in Northport, AL where he worked at Phifer Wire for four years and had recently started a new job at GAF Materials. He was of Baptist faith, and he loved his family and friends beyond measure. Drake never met a stranger and once he met you, he never forgot you. You could always count on Drake for a joke and a laugh that would make you feel better on your worst day.

Drake was a 2009 graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School and attended Shelton State Community College. He was a wonderful father, son, and friend.

Services will be Thursday, September 2 at Magnolia North Funeral Home with Brother John Nixon officiating, and a special poem read by Frank Kelly. Viewing will be 12-2pm with funeral service starting at 2:00 p.m.

He is survived by his daughter Kylee Grace Giles, fiancé Haley Clements, Mom and Stepdad Lana and Larry Ernest, four brothers: Tanner, John, James (Christy), and Thomas Giles, two stepbrothers Bill Ernest (Vanessa), Senior Chief Petty Officer John Ernest (Amy), nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts, and cousins.

Drake was preceded in death by his dad, Roger Giles, Aunt,Amanda Millstead, Grandmother, Marie Pike, and Grandfathers,J.C. Millstead and Carl Giles.

Pallbearers will be Blake Burchfield, Keith Fondren, Zach Widner, Justin Parker, Ryan Allen, and Ryan Perkins.

Honorary Pallbearers will be management and employees of GAF Materials.
