Robert Barry Day BROOKWOOD | Robert Barry (Bobby) Day, age 64, of Brookwood, died May 19, 2014, at Hospice of West Alabama. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Bro. Jack Clary officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his father, Arlie L. Day and stepmother, Ruth P. Day. Survivors include his wife, Carol Day; daughters, Kimberly Hallman (Scott) and April Swiney (John-David); sons, Rueben Day (Lisa) and Robin Day (Krissy); sisters, Brenda Welborn and Dianne Skinner (James); brother, Larry Day (Jackie); mother, Wilma Watkins; stepfather, Olan; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Bobby spent his life doing what he could to help those in need ad serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He spent three years in the military serving two years in Vietnam and one year in the National Guard. He worked at Phifer, Inc. for 39 years and spent his past time tinkering with small motors. Bobby enjoyed rolling in the floor with his kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His love for his family was abundant and his devotion to his Lord was evident in everything he did. His family was the light of his life and he loved taking them on long walks in the woods discussing God and nature, or sitting at the foot of the waterfall watching God's beauty at work. He spent 34 years lovingly chasing his devoted wife and passed in her arms as he wished. Bobby went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 19, 2014. Pallbearers will be Daryl Fondren, Mike Smith, Jesse Lyles, Andrew Stephens, Damon Boyd, and Eric Carroll. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. McKnight and staff, Hospice of West Alabama, Lewis & Faye Manderson Cancer Center, and present and former employees of Phifer Wire. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
