Robert Ransom Bebout, age 85, of Northport, Ala., passed away April 13, 2025 at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Sulphur Springs Free Will Baptist Church - old sanctuary with Bro. Ken Cheek officiating. Burial will follow in Sulphur Springs Free Will Baptist Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Isom Bebout and Ella Ransom Bebout; and sister, Lauree Raty.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah “Bobbi” Haynie Bebout; daughters, Lisa Woods (Todd), Loucretia Lunceford (Reggie), Tammy Carrillo, and Tracie Bebout; son, Robert Bebout (Janeene); grandchildren, Austin Bebout, Cody Bebout, Craig Woods (Crystal), Kaci Hebert (Cameron), John Woods (Kendra), Jazlyn Lunceford, Savannah Lunceford, Christopher Pimentel (Brittanie), and Austin Pimentel (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Kynlee Hebert, Coleman Hebert, Carli Woods, Chloi Woods, Jameson Pimentel and Jordynn Pimentel.
Robert Bebout was born October 4, 1939 in New York. He grew up in California. He graduated from high school in Beaumont, CA in 1957. He attended Shasta Community College, where he started his career in underground mining. This career took him to many places throughout the USA over his lifetime. After marrying Sarah Bebout in 1988, they lived in Colorado Springs, Utah, Dallas, Taiwan, and Big Timber, Montana, where he worked doing underground construction. After about 17 years, they returned to Northport, AL to retire. He adored his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than anything. Some of his hobbies included hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, traveling, working in the yard, camping, and boating. He enjoyed his Agape Sunday School class at Five Points Baptist Church where he made many friends. His special cats were Big Cat and Little Girl, who got his undivided attention for the last 19 years. He loved to piddle and could fix almost anything. He was a huge Alabama Fan and loved to eat Dreamland as he yelled Roll Tide.
Pallbearers will be Austin Bebout, Cody Bebout, Craig Woods, John Woods, Ron Rowland, and Nicholas Ecker.
Honorary pallbearers are DCH Nurses 5 Southeast, Agape Sunday School Class, Five Points Baptist Church, and Dr. Busenlehner.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
