Richard L. McCarty MOUNDVILLE - Richard L. McCarty, age 59, of Moundville, died September 23, 2016. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Rev. Herbert Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be Monday, September 26, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald McCarty; and grandparents, Lloyd and Louise Gibson and Adam and Naomi McCarty. Survivors include his daughters, Jasmin, Sara and Naomi McCarty; sons, Yousuf and Adam McCarty; parent, Lynne McCarty Davis (Charles); brother, Jeff McCarty; uncle, Jerry McCarty (Jean) and John "Johnny" McCarty; grandson, Connor Montgomery; and numerous cousins in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Richard was born in Selma, Alabama and graduated from Repton High School. His trade was a millwright and he worked with many companies over the years. He was a loving father, brother, son, and friend and will be dearly missed. Pallbearers will be Jeff, Justin and Greg McCarty, Wayne York, Ronnie Garner, Eric Perry, Officer Romarbs Mayes and Will Wiggins Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors of Moundville, Moundville youth football coaches and teammates, employees and friends at Graphic Packaging, Inc. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children's Hospital of Birmingham or one's favorite charity.
