Raymond E. Kelly COKER Raymond E. Kelly, age 70, of Coker, went home to be with the Lord on June 19, 2013. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Northport Church of God with Rev. Greg Strickland, Rev. Tony Pope, and Rev. Doug Blakney officiating. Burial will follow in Pate Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Northport Church of God. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Madeline Kelly; his sister, Carolyn Lay; and his brother, Barney Kelly Jr. Survivors include his wife, Sherry T. Kelly; his daughters, Cindy Trawick, Sandy Rice, and Jennifer Wheat (Terry); his son, Dewayne Connell (Angie); his sister, Elinor Blakney (Coston); his brothers, Roy Kelly and Dan Kelly; his grandchildren, Derek Rice (Ashley), Kasey Rice, Alexis Trawick, Erica, Halie, and Emily Wheat, Morgan Grant, and Josh and Jesse Johnson; and his great-grandchildren, Blayden Rice and Kaylyn and River Johnson. Raymond was a loving husband, father, and pawpaw. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, retired from the VA Medical Center, and held numerous positions at Northport Church of God. Raymond was a man after God's own heart. The legacy he leaves will be forever remembered. Pallbearers will be Johnny Lay, Larry Townsend, Lamar Sanders, Joe Lay, Barney Blakney, and Donald Sanders. Honorary pallbearers are members and friends of Northport Church of God and friends and neighbors of Lake Robinwood. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association , c/o Home Instead, 3630 Northbrook Drive Suite B, Northport, AL 35473.
