Ralph Pate

Ralph Elton Pate, Sr., age 71, was born on October 27, 1945. He was surrounded by his family as he passed away from his earthly life and stepped into God's glory to be with his Lord and Savior on October 15, 2017. Although his family and friends feel a deep void in their hearts, now that he is no longer physically with them, we rest in peace knowing that one day we will all be reunited in heaven. Revelation 21:4 "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond D. Pate and Myrtie Lee Smelley Pate; daughter, Samara Pate Everett; and brother, Raymond LeRoy Pate. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Gayle Pate; his children; Amanda Gayle Pate McDaniel (Dennis) and Ralph Elton Pate, Jr. (Anna); brother, Faron Pate (Vanessa); sisters, Joyce Montgomery (Sid Swanson) and Wanda Sullivan; grandchildren, Parker Elizabeth Pate, Patricia Grace Pate, Ann Elton Pate, Samuel Richard McDaniel, Thomas Pate McDaniel, Emma Gayle McDaniel, Elizabeth Rose McDaniel, and Sara Grace McDaniel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ralph was a kind, loving, and devoted husband, father, brother and friend with a servant's heart. He enjoyed spending time with his family, serving others and being outdoors. So often he befriended those who he could see were going through hard times or needed a friend. He shared produce from his garden, and offered car rides to doctor's appointments for those who couldn't get there. Ralph was the ultimate protector and provider for his family. He did a lot of cooking for his family and they spent much time together outdoors on the river, hunting, and at home. A private family only graveside service will be held Thursday, October 19, 2017 in Greensboro, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church of your choice.
