Phyllis Ann Crawford Key

Phyllis Ann Crawford Key, 78, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Phyllis was a devoted mother, MeeMee, and friend to many, ready to love and always with a smile. She cherished her family deeply, her dogs and her plants. Phyllis loved to travel. Exploring new places and creating memories was a favorite pastime.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Veronica Crawford Dahlquist (Wally Dahlquist) and Glendon Crawford of Sun City, California; her beloved husband, Wayne R. Key of Valrico, Florida; and her son, Thomas S. Key of Niceville, Florida. She is survived by her children: Shan W. Key of Cropwell, Alabama; Debbie S. Knight (Jeff W Knight) of Southside, Alabama; Michael S. Key (Ashley E Key) of Apollo Beach, Florida; and Amanda Key of Riverview, Florida. She also leaves behind 10 cherished grandchildren who were the lights of her life.

Phyllis spent many years as the manager of the Walter Wellborn High School lunchroom, where she greeted students and staff with her care. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church. There, she volunteered her time in the nursery.

A graveside service to celebrate Phyllis's life will be held at a later date at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, where she will be laid to rest with her loving husband, Wayne R. Key.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wounded Warrior Project, in honor of Phyllis's memory.
