Perry Jessie Cooper Jr. | COTTONDALE Perry Jessie Cooper, Jr. (Penny), age 61, of Cottondale, died June 17, 2011, at home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry Cooper, Sr. and Alma Cooper; brother, Freddie Cooper; sister, Lilie Mae Thomas; and grandson, Zackery Cooper. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Faye Cooper of Cottondale; sons, Wayne Cooper (Debbie) of Fosters and Chris Cooper of Cottondale; a niece, Angela Scott (Eugene); and sisters, Vera Mitchell, Dot McCoy, and Linda Johnson, all of Northport, and Vie Sanford and Annie Cooper of Elrod; sister-in-law, LaDonna Cooper of Gordo; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Tony Golden, Joe Golden, Bill Johnson, Richard Campbell, Stephen Cooper, and Freddie Cooper, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky McGill, a very special niece, Tina Williamson, Amedisys Hospice (Arlene and Michelle), friends and neighbors, Benny Cannon, BW Hobson Construction, Butch Terry, and Terry Haines. Perry was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Bro. Ed Golden and Bro. Joel Beard officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
