Pauline P. Simpson TUSCALOOSA - Pauline P. Simpson, age 83, of Tuscaloosa, died May 21, 2016, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral South with Rev. Glenn Kennedy and Rev. Gene Dockery officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be today, May 24, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Robert and Bettie Pumphrey; son, JT Stamps III; and brothers, Louis, Webster, Forrest and Leon Pumphrey. Survivors include her daughter, Paula Thompson; sons, Hal Stamps and John Stamps; sister, Janie Moses; daughter-in-law, Tammy Stamps; grandchildren, Chuck Thompson (Brooke), Misty Fisher (Rob), Jessica Stamps (Steven Banks), Lindsay Todhunter (Adam), Heath Stamps and ten great-grandchildren. She was born Pauline Pumphrey on August 13, 1932 in Brookwood. She graduated from Brookwood High in 1950 and completed Bible courses through Samford. She worked in many positions at Big Hurricane Baptist and later was an enthusiastic member of Unity Baptist. Pauline previously worked at Steins Shoes and Citizens Water Service. Her integrity was impeccable and her laughter infectious. Her greatest joy was being Mama and Sweet Mama to her kids, grandkids and all who loved her. Pallbearers will be Chuck Thompson, Heath Stamps, Dakota Fisher, Danny Moses, Bobby Moses and Mark Pumphrey. Honorary pallbearers are Larry and Linda Holloway, Dolly Callahan, Beth Walker Ray Proffitt, Cheryl Elledge, Vickie White, Regina Aaron, members of Unity Baptist, Red Hat Ladies and Hospice of West Alabama.
