Rev. Paul Peeples of Tuscaloosa, Alabama passed away on September 11, 2024 at home and entered his "Heavenly Home". A memorial service will be held at Magnolia Chapel South on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 3:00 pm with Rev. John Drawhorn and Rev. Bill Richards officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Shirley Peeples, daughter, Elana Peeples, and a sister, Carolyn Davis. He is also survived by many family members including many nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.
He was a devoted husband to Shirley and dad to Elana. Paul was a Methodist Minister for 51 years, pastoring church's in Brookwood, Peterson Chapel, Patterson Chapel, Macedonia, Union Chapel, Sand Springs, Romulus and Southside. Paul's motto and advice to young preachers was "Preach the word and love your people!!" He truly loved and cared for the people that he served. He had a heart for missions. He traveled many miles to Alabama Missions Projects and to Texas, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Mississippi helping people get their homes back together after disaster. He was on Mission Teams to build churches in Mexico and was honored to preach the dedication service of three churches where he saw many people saved. Paul was well known for his carpentry skills. He loved to build houses and restore houses.
Paul will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Special thanks to his ACG hospice nurses who cared for him in the last weeks of his life and to the nurses and many workers in the VA Home care and pharmacy staff at the VA you were all great. Many thanks to caregivers that helped so very much at home!
