Paul Wesley Earnest, born on October 13, 1928 in Walker County, Alabama went home to be with His Lord Jesus Christ at his home on Friday, November 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Magnolia Chapel North with Bro. Terry Oswalt and Bro. Mark Falls officiating and Magnolia Chapel North directing.  Burial will follow in Gibson Hill Cemetery in Berry, Alabama. Visitation will be held at Magnolia Chapel North from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service.

He is preceded in death by his father; Jacob Thomas Earnest, mother; Luarkey Browder Earnest Teske, wife; Mary M. Earnest (1991 - 2022), wife; Earline Kimbrell Earnest (1952 - 1966), son; Paul Steven Earnest, brothers; Richard Earnest, Clayton Earnest, Ray Earnest, Amos Teske, Jr., and sister; Ruth Teske Thacker.

Survivors include his daughters; Linda Earnest Falls (Larry), of Northport, AL, Carmen Earnest Morgan (Cornelius) of Staunton, VA., Reba Averette Bishop (Jerry) of Centre, AL., grandchildren; Mark G. Falls, Holly N. Downs, Melvin (Doug) Grimsley, Brandon Grimsley, Wesley Morgan, Keith Robb, Megan DeSantis, Johnathon Earnest, Chris Morgan, Cristy Hansard, Jennifer Bishop, great grandchildren; Charis Falls, Kimbrell Falls, Caroline Falls, Maddelynn Grimsley, Hannah Grimsley, Aiden Grimsley, Rebekah Grimsley, Joel Grimsley, Sarah Grimsley, Benjamin Grimsley, Addison Tanner Grimsley, Savannah Grimsley, Jaxon Morgan, Hayden Robb, Alexander Robb, Emily Salzarulo, Isaac Salzarulo, Abby King, Ally King, Easton Abernathy and Adalyn Hansard, sisters; Eva Nell Tootsie Davis of Sawyerville, AL., Audrey Alexander of Berry, AL., Lou Jean Bagwell of Berry, AL., and Mary Lou Smith of Berry, AL.

At the age of 11, Paul started working to support his mother and siblings due to his father's death. Paul married Earline Kimbrell in June of 1952. They had three children: Linda, Steve and Carmen. After Earline's death he married Mary Mitchell Averette on June 3, 1981 and became a loving father to his bonus child Reba. Paul was a laborer and mastered many skills including: house framing, brick laying, welding and layout work. Paul was a master storyteller and loved to share many of his life experiences with family and friends. As a member of UMWA, he retired from Drummond Coal Company in 1985 where he helped build eleven draglines. Paul loved being with his siblings, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Fish fries, cookouts, Thanksgiving and Christmas and His birthday party were his favorite gatherings. After Paul came to know the Lord he attended Windham Springs Baptist Church and Oregonia Baptist Church. 

Pallbearers will be Ricky Earnest, Jerry Earnest, Randy Earnest, James Smith, Orville Smith, and Mitchell Kimbrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Foley, Franklin Johnson, Neil Terry, Sherie Terry, David Mitchell, Amy Box, Larry Falls, Jerry Bishop, and the staff of Alabama Hospice of Tuscaloosa.
