Patrick Oneal Bridges TUSCALOOSA | Patrick Oneal Bridges, age 75, of Tuscaloosa, died January 14, 2016, at Forest Manor Nursing Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Magnolia North Funeral Home with Mike Spivey and Jerry Croft officiating and Magnolia North Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents Naida and Grady Bridges; sister, Evelyn Stamps; brother, Earl Bridges. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Kay Bridges; daughters, Gina Kerr (Reid); son, Clay Bridges (Laurie); brothers, Alton Bridges (Angela) and Glenn Bridges (Brenda); sister-in-law's, Patsy Aldridge, Minnie Martin and Margaret Crumpton; grandchildren, Kristen, Trey, Meredith Grace, Liam and Isabella; and other treasured relatives including nieces, nephews and cousins. Oneal loved to tell stories about his many adventures growing up in the city of Northport near the old cotton gin. He enjoyed many lasting friendships with classmates from Tuscaloosa County High School, Class of 1960. His love of people and eagerness to be helpful made him a valuable employee at the Northport Western Auto Store, and later at the BF Goodrich Co. Tire Store in Tuscaloosa, which later became Tire Centers, Inc. His success as a commercial salesman for TCI was due to his good-natured personality and eagerness to help his customers. His years of playing tennis at Tuscaloosa Country Club were some of the best years of his life. He later became an avid cyclist and recruited others into his favorite sport. Oneal was an adoring father and grandfather and a devoted husband. He leaves to cherish his memory many wonderful friends from all walks of life. Pallbearers will be Tom Watson, Rick Blair, Don Barton, Scott Barton, Bill Young, Craig Miller, Larry Turner and Lawrence Doughty. Honorary pallbearers are "Friends" Sunday School Class, and members of Northport First United Methodist Church, past and present employees of Tire Centers, Inc. and loyal customers, cycling buddies and DCBC members, TCHS classmates, Woodridge friends and neighbors, Forest Manor Health Care employees, Arvesta Parker, Sharon Hill, Wink and John Cooper, Linvell Barger, Charles and Munter Wyatt, Jean and Larry Mathis, Harland and Vera Donaldson, Rochelle Barton, Ruth Bevis, Steve and Sherry Burroughs, Britt and Becki Brittany William and Donna Cline, Warrior Tractor employees and friends at Planet Fitness. In lieu of flowers please make contributions in Oneal's memory to Northport First United Methodist Church or the Humane Society of West Alabama.
