Orville L. Miller |NORTHPORT Orville L. Miller, age 87, of Northport, died April 30, 2012. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Williamson Cemetery with Rev. Joyce Snyder officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Sarah Chism Miller; daughters, Donna Peters (Lewis Harrison) and Deborah Hall Lowther (Ron); son, Craig Miller; sisters, Coleen Bahr of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Marlys Rieckman of Moorhead, Minn.; grandchildren, Doug Bennight (Jerri), Pamela Howard (Dr. Paul), Michael Hall (Courtney), and Jason Hall (Dr. Courtney); and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Miller retired from B.F. Goodrich after 37 years of service. He was a member of Northport United Methodist Church, a life member of the National Rifle Association and the AGCA, and a member of the British Car Club. He served during World War II as a medic aboard ship in the U.S. Merchant Marines. Pallbearers will be Doug Bennight, Mike Hall, Jason Hall, Tom Morrison, Mike Chism, and Eddie Chism. Honorary pallbearers are Miss Gigi Hawkins, Mrs. Bessie Croom, Don Church, Bobby Rosenberg, and members of the J.L. Petterson Sunday School Class.
