Opal Stone

Opal Moore Stone, 77 of Moundville, Alabama, went into the arms of her Savior on Monday, December 17, 2018. A celebration of life will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Concord Baptist Church with Bro. Wyatt Rhone officiating and Magnolia South officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, W. D. Moore (Pete) and Earl Dean Moore; brother, David O. Moore; and son, Stephen Dale Stone.

Opal is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Wayne Stone; son, Russell Stone (Sherry); daughters, Tinia Stone McLaughlin (Joel) and Ginger Stone White (Leon); sisters, Christine Moore Parr and Suzette Moore Dillard (Sam); brother; Wally Moore, grandchildren, Stephanie Stone McAlpine, Tabitha Stone Ross, Caitlin Tubbs, Mary Catherine Houston, Cole McLaughlin, Hunter Keith, Courtney White and Kaleigh White; eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and loving cousins.

Opal was married to the love of her life for 58 years. She loved to knit and shared with everyone. She loved the Lord, her family and her church family. In the words of her granddaughter, "She was a true earthly angel. Her voice calmed the most broken soul with one word spoken. She could sing any tune and it would sound like it came straight from the gates of Heaven, because she was truly that pure hearted." She will be sorely missed by many.

Honorary pallbearers are her Concord Baptist Church family, employees of Sunbelt Rentals, NorthStar EMS, Hale County EMS, Comfort Care Hospice, and Candice McCray.
