OPAL B. ACKER
BUHL - Opal B. Acker "Minnie", age 91, of Buhl,
Ala., passed away April 4, 2018 at her home. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Cornelius Chapel Church in Buhl with Botner H. Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Magnolia Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rush and Effie Booth; husband, Lester E. Acker; son, Ted E. Acker; three sisters; and two brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty A. Sorrell of Buhl, Ala.; sister, Lera Nicosia of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; grandchildren, Brittany Acker, Keilli Brook Fair, Pam Sorrell and Andrea Spindle; and great-grandchild, Allison Weathers.
Mrs. Acker lived in Buhl all of her life. She was a wonderful mother. She owned and operated Ackers Processing Plant in Buhl for 40 years. She loved her church family where she was a lifetime member for over 65 years.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice-Mrs. Kay Lee and Nikki Reves for doing a wonderful job. Very special thanks to Theresa Ledbetter for a wonderful job taking care of my mother.
Pallbearers will be Gary Nicosta, Tom Barnhart, Gene Booth, Ralph Booth, Luther Crawford and Steve Channell.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends of Buhl Community and past customer of Ackers Processing Plant.
