Ola Fay Millwood Latham, 85, of Tuscaloosa, AL, passed away peacefully at Park Manor Nursing Home on Thursday, July 20, 2023. Services will be held at Magnolia Chapel North on Monday, July 24, 2023, with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm and the funeral following at 1:00 p.m. Brother Clark Sims and Brother Kerry Richardson will officiate. A private burial will be held at Shiloh Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Gordo with Magnolia Chapel directing.
Ola Fay was born on April 20, 1938, in Haleyville, AL and grew up in Carbon Hill, AL. After high school, she moved to Tuscaloosa, AL where she worked at Bryce Hospital and met her husband. After marrying, she continued working many years at Bryce Hospital until she later worked as a homemaker raising her two daughters. She was a faithful member of the Northport Church of Christ. She was a hard worker who loved serving at her church. She loved gardening, reading, sewing, and cooking for others. She spent her life always focusing on bettering the lives of those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley and Ella Millwood; her sisters, Doris Schloss, Annilou Spencer, Sue Latham, and Pearl Watson; and her brother G.W. Millwood.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Joe Thomas Latham; her daughters, Gail (David) Sortino of Jasper, AL, and Beth (Dwayne) Curlee of Tuscaloosa, AL; five grandchildren, Jeffrey (Amber) Smith of Anchorage, AK, Katie (Keanu) Miljure of Anchorage, AK, Allison Sortino of Jasper, AL, Luke Sortino of Jasper, AL, and Brody Curlee of Tuscaloosa, AL; and four great grandchildren, Raelyn Miljure, Kamryn Miljure, Patsy Smith, and Rosemary Smith, all of Anchorage, AK; two sisters, Audrey Mae Stanley of Lincoln, AL, and Eleanor (John) Staten of Jackson, MS; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Curlee, Mark Latham, Stansel Latham, Keith Watson, Billy Latham and Noah Davis.
