Norma Jean Lawless TUSCALOOSA - Norma Jean Lawless, age 82, of Tuscaloosa, died Friday, January 13, 2017, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Rev. Charles Spence and Rev. Gary Anthony Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow in Big Sandy Baptist Church Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James E. Lawless; parents, Richmond and Idelle Wyatt; and brothers, Raymond Wyatt and Stanley Wyatt. Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Lawless Cromer (Buddy) and Rhonda Lawless; sisters, Cornelia Ruiz (Alex) of San Francisco, Calif. and Margie Wright (Richard) of Lakeland, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Nell Wyatt and Betty Latham; grandchildren, Whitney Cromer (Brandon) and Kacie Lee Sherrill (Jordan); special great-grandchildren, Jude and Lakon; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was known as "Mama Jean" to almost everyone that she came into contact with. Pallbearers will be Ray Wyatt, Vince Wyatt, Mike Bullock, Joe Chandler, David Mills, Randy Key, Jimmy Ellis and Chuck Frith. Honorary pallbearers are Hospice of West Alabama, Dr. Larry Skelton, employees and staff of Moundville Health and Rehab, Kenni Spencer, Randall M. Cheshire, Sanford E. Gunter, Kristy R. Rushing, Ginger Thomas, Nesa Terry, Kristy Colburn, friends and co-workers of Indian River Mental Health Center, residents of the Big Sandy community, special caregivers, Ashley Smith Parr, Alejandra Schatzline, Brandi Twilley, Monica Williams, Ilene Vega, Daley Tubbs, and Marcy Thurman, Tara Lanier, Richard and Rose Cromer and Jean Morton and family.
