Nellie B. Godfrey, age 86, of Buhl, went home to be with the Lord and her loved ones on July 14, 2017, at Glen Haven Nursing Home. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2017, at Buhl Church of God with Reverend Kenneth Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Pate Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Her husband of 60 years, Richard Godfrey; parents, I.D. and Anna Booth; grandson, Byron Goodman; nephew, Mike Stiteler; and brothers-in-law, Billy Joe Harless and Joseph (Joe) Burroughs, preceded her in death. She was a member of Buhl Church of God and active in the Ladies Auxiliary. Her and her husband frequently visited nursing homes and she volunteered services at Forest Manor Nursing Home. Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Hawthorne (Louie) of Buhl; son, Larry Godfrey (Diane) of Buhl; sisters, Julie Burroughs of Northport and Jean Harless of Buhl; grandchildren, DeDe Simmons (Keith) and Paul Godfrey (Lydia); great-grandchildren, Haylee Hopson, Anna Johnson (Jessie), Courtney Goodman, Livvy Skelton, Luke Godfrey, Landon Godfrey, Andrew Simmons and Jackson Simmons; one great-great-granddaughter, Zoey Price; and nieces, Vicky Champion (Paul) and Wendy Stiteler. Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren, DeDe Simmons, Keith Simmons, Paul Godfrey, Lydia Godfrey, Anna Johnson and Jessie Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are members of Buhl Church of God, Buhl community, Glen Haven Nursing Home, Amedisys Home Health Care, Helen Ware, Larina LaFoy, Beatrice Connell, Linda Smith and her special friend MaryLee Channell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Buhl Church of God.
